The main island of Singapore is shaped like a flattened diamond, 42 km (26 miles) east to west and 23 km (14 miles) north to south. Near the northern peak is the causeway leading to West Malaysia—Kuala Lumpur is less than four hours away by car. It is at the southern foot where you will find most of the city-state’s action, with its gleaming office towers, working docks, and futuristic “supertrees,” which are solar-powered and serve as vertical gardens. Offshore are Sentosa and over 60 smaller islands, most uninhabited, that serve as bases for oil refining or as playgrounds and beach escapes from the city. To the east is Changi International Airport, connected to the city by metro, bus, and a tree-lined parkway. Of the island’s total land area, more than half is built up, with the balance made up of parkland, farmland, plantations, swamp areas, and rain forest. Well-paved roads connect all parts of the island, and Singapore city has an excellent, and constantly expanding, public transportation system. The heart of Singapore’s history and its modern wealth are in and around the Central Business District. The area includes the skyscrapers in the Central Business District, the 19th-century Raffles Hotel, the convention centers of Marina Square, on up to the top of Ft. Canning. Although most of old Singapore has been knocked down to make way for the modern city, most colonial landmarks have been preserved in the CBD, including early-19th-century buildings designed by the Irish architect George Coleman.

Fringed by emerald waters and scattered islets, Pulau Singkep lies within Indonesia’s Riau Archipelago, a region where life remains closely tied to the sea. Far from the main tourist routes, this quietly beautiful island offers a balance of natural simplicity and authentic local character.Today’s exploration may combine time on the water with meaningful community encounters. Scenic Eclipse II’s Discovery Team could provide opportunities for Zodiac cruising along mangrove-lined shores and sheltered bays, as well as water-based activities, where conditions and local approvals allow. The island of Belitung is large, measuring roughly 4,800 square kilometer (1850 square miles). Along with neighbouring Bangka and the many other surrounding small islands this is not just an archipelago, but a substantial province of Indonesia. Belitung used to have many tin mines, but today the island is better known for its nature. The most distinct features of Belitung’s many beaches are the fascinating granite rock formations along the shallow shores. These rocks can reach the size of houses and lie in bold contrast to the white sand. Swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters reveals healthy corals and hundreds of fish.
Discover Pulau Belitung, a coastal gem where sculpted granite boulders frame pristine white sands and luminous turquoise waters. Beyond its striking beaches, the island invites you to explore local traditions, savour freshly caught seafood and wander through charming villages, offering an intimate glimpse of authentic Indonesian island life. With a later arrival today, spend the morning at leisure in your luxurious suite or head to one of the cabanas on Deck 10, enjoying inspiring views of the ocean.
Semarang is one of the oldest cities in Indonesia, situated on Java’s north coast between the shore of the Java Sea and a small ridge of mountains. Ceded to the Dutch West India Company in 1677 by King Amangkurat I in payment of his debts, it became their headquarters and the seat of the Dutch governor of the northeast provinces. Semarang’s usefulness as a port waned due to the gradual silting up of the harbor; by the 19th century, Surabaya had eclipsed Semarang as Java’s premier port. With a population of over one million, a third of whom are thought to be of Chinese extraction, Semarang is the largest city in Central Java and its administrative capital. The city consists of two parts: the coastal lowland where most of the commercial activities are found; and the hilly residential area. Although more a business center than a city for tourists, Semarang serves as a popular gateway to the mountainous interior of Central Java and to fabled Borobudur.
Semarang is the gateway to the magnificent Borobudur Temple, a World Heritage Site and the world’s largest Buddhist temple, built around 800 A.D. and once long hidden beneath the lush Javanese jungle. A visit here also opens a window onto vibrant local culture, scenic rural landscapes and timeless Javanese traditions that continue to shape daily life.
Welcome to paradise. The 27 islands that comprise Karimunjawa, which sit in the sparkling turquoise expanse of the Java Sea, are true jewels – offering beaches of crisp white sand, and bath-like temperatures for swimming. With diverse marine life, extraordinary shelves of shallow water, and blooming coral reefs, there’s an endless supply of wonderful beach scenery to make the most of. Take your front row seats for the sun’s nightly descent, when rich pinks and vivid reds spill across the sky. Karimunjawa island is the largest of the archipelago, and you can explore on foot, or by renting a car, motorbike or bicycle. Work your way around – or through – the island’s thick jungle, seeking out the wonderful, untouched beaches that are hidden across it. Only seven of the islands are inhabited, and the natural world is still very much in charge here. Encounter everything from sea turtles scraping themselves across the beach, to harmless sharks, which will circle around your legs before darting away.
Tucked between Java and Borneo, the Karimunjawa Archipelago is a serene national marine park of 27 islands, where powder-soft white beaches, vibrant coral gardens and glassy lagoons remain largely untouched by tourism. This hidden island paradise invites unhurried exploration, offering a rare sense of seclusion amid some of Indonesia’s most pristine seascapes.Tonight, explore more of the up to 10 all-inclusive on board culinary experiences, sampling fine French cuisine at Lumière+ or vibrant Asian fusion at Koko’s. Alternatively, choose to dine in the comfort of your suite and have your evening nightcap delivered by your butler, choosing from a range of premium wines, beers and spirits.Scenic Discovery: There may be opportunities, conditions and local arrangements allowing, to join a guided nature walk, kayak through sheltered waters, and snorkel over vibrant coral reefs.
Known as the "City of Heroes," Surabaya pulses with energy and history. Wander through the historic Arab Quarter, where centuries-old architecture meets lively markets, admire the vibrant street art along Jalan Tunjungan, and savour the bold, aromatic flavours of traditional Javanese cuisine. With its dynamic blend of culture, heritage, and modern life, Surabaya offers a rich and unforgettable experience for every visitor.
Off the north-eastern shores of Java, Madura feels strikingly different, a proud island shaped by seafaring heritage and traditions that remain central to everyday life. Madura is best known for its distinctive bull-related culture, where colour, music and competitive spirit create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Indonesia. With Scenic Eclipse II potentially among the first cruise vessels to call here, today’s exploration is centred on cultural discovery: a welcome that reflects local customs, the opportunity to hear about and perhaps observe elements of traditional bull racing practices, and time to visit a palace setting associated with Java’s courtly heritage, quite different in character from Bali.Check the daily program on board to find out what the Discovery Team has planned coming up. Enjoy a lecture in the state-of-the-art theatre and gain insights into the local culture and nature.
Lying quietly in the Java Sea, Bawean Island has the feel of a self-contained world, a green, hilly landscape ringed by small villages, coconut palms and simple fishing boats drawn up on sandy shores. Life moves at a gentler rhythm here, and long-held traditions still shape daily routines, ceremonies and community gatherings. As a rare cruise call, today’s visit is about soaking up that sense of place: a welcome that reflects local custom, time to walk through a village or coastal area and glimpse everyday island life, and the chance to hear about Bawean’s stories, crafts or beliefs that distinguish it from mainland Java.Scenic Discovery: Today, you may also be able to join your Discovery Team for a choice of relaxed water-based activities, such as coastal Zodiac cruises or swimming and snorkelling where conditions and local arrangements allow.
Bali really is as alluring as everyone says. This island, slightly bigger than Delaware, has it all: beaches, volcanoes, terraced rice fields, forests, renowned resorts, surfing, golf, and world-class dive sites. But what sets Bali apart from other nearby tropical destinations is Balinese tradition, and villagers dedicated to celebrating it. The hundreds of temples, dances, rituals, and crafts linked to their ancient Hindu faith aren’t a show for tourists, but a living, breathing culture in which visitors are warmly received by the Balinese, who cherish their own identities.
Your Discovery Voyage concludes in Bali, the Island of the Gods, where emerald rice terraces, ornate temples and a rich spiritual heritage give the island its enduring allure. With Scenic Eclipse II docked in Benoa on the island’s southern shores, it is time to bid farewell to your fellow guests and the crew, carrying with you cherished memories of remarkable destinations, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and unmatched ultra-luxury.Please book your flight to depart out of Denpasar after 12:00 PM.#Spa treatments and services at additional cost. Due to strict drug laws in certain countries, make sure medication is carried in its original packaging with the prescription label clearly marked. When travelling through airports or border crossings, we’d recommend that you keep medication in your hand luggage ready for inspection.

In selected ports on request, visitors may be allowed on board. Visitation is not permitted on embarkation and disembarkation day. A visitor form is to be completed prior to the cruise. The guests will be informed once approved. Visitors will receive a visitor pass at ship’s gangway after they provide photo identification. Visitors will need to be accompanied at all times.

Can Scenic arrange my passport and visas?
Scenic cannot arrange a passport or visas on your behalf, but our experienced Reservations Team may be able to advise you on the type of visas and documentation you need when visiting certain countries.
Your passport must be valid for six months beyond the conclusion of your trip. Please check your passport before departure and give yourself time to apply for a new one if this is required. Also, if the nationality on your passport differs from the country in which you currently reside, contact your local consulate to ensure you have the right documents for travel. Your holiday may be disrupted if you cannot provide valid documents at airports and border crossings.
Can Scenic organise my travel insurance?
No, Scenic is unable to provide travel insurance. We’d recommend that you arrange insurance cover that best suits you and covers you in the event of unforeseen circumstances. It’s also a good idea to take any documents relating to your insurance with you when you travel.
Once I’ve booked, what other information do you require?
Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll need to enter your personal details on Trip Personaliser prior to travelling (details on Trip Personaliser will be sent to you).
Required information:
Please note, all guests must complete their Trip Personaliser form prior to travelling. Failure to complete the form may prevent guests sailing with Emerald Cruises.
What fitness levels do cruises/tours require?
Due to the amount of excursions available during a Scenic cruise or tour, a reasonable level of fitness is required to take full advantage of each itinerary. You must be physically able and self-sufficient to undertake the cruise or tour you have booked, and/or travel with a companion who is able to provide any assistance you may require during your holiday. Some of the all-inclusive excursions offered require a reasonable level of fitness to complete, and you may be required to climb ramps and/or stairs.
Please also note that not all Scenic ships have a lift. Here is a list of the ships which have an elevator and their restrictions:
– Scenic Space-Ships in Europe have a lift which services the Diamond Deck and Sapphire Deck.
– Scenic Spirit has a lift which services all decks between the Diamond Deck and Gem Deck.
I’m pregnant – can I still travel on a river cruise, ocean voyage or land journey?
The majority of cruise operators recommend that pregnant women should not travel after the 28-week period. If you do decide to travel, you may be asked to provide a doctor’s certificate clarifying you’re fit to travel.
Do the ships provide mobility-wheelchair access?
We welcome passengers with medical conditions or disabilities and can provide mobility provisions when notified in writing of a person’s needs before boarding. However, please be aware that there may be limitations on board and during excursions. Some of our ships do not have elevators, and where there is an elevator on board it may not access all decks. While collapsible wheelchairs are permitted on board under appropriate circumstances, you must be able to climb up and down stairs on coaches, and some excursions may require you to negotiate cobblestones or climb steps.
In addition, standard suites and bathrooms have significant thresholds and cabin doors which limit access, meaning they may not be wide enough to allow access to many wheelchairs. Please speak to a member of our team about your requirements prior to booking so that we can offer information on mobility and access.
