It’s no wonder that all roads lead to the fascinating and maddening metropolis of Athens. Lift your eyes 200 feet above the city to the Parthenon, its honey-color marble columns rising from a massive limestone base, and you behold architectural perfection that has not been surpassed in 2,500 years. But, today, this shrine of classical form dominates a 21st-century boomtown. To experience Athens—Athína in Greek—fully is to understand the essence of Greece: ancient monuments surviving in a sea of cement, startling beauty amid the squalor, tradition juxtaposed with modernity. Locals depend on humor and flexibility to deal with the chaos; you should do the same. The rewards are immense. Although Athens covers a huge area, the major landmarks of the ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine periods are close to the modern city center. You can easily walk from the Acropolis to many other key sites, taking time to browse in shops and relax in cafés and tavernas along the way. From many quarters of the city you can glimpse “the glory that was Greece” in the form of the Acropolis looming above the horizon, but only by actually climbing that rocky precipice can you feel the impact of the ancient settlement. The Acropolis and Filopappou, two craggy hills sitting side by side; the ancient Agora (marketplace); and Kerameikos, the first cemetery, form the core of ancient and Roman Athens. Along the Unification of Archaeological Sites promenade, you can follow stone-paved, tree-lined walkways from site to site, undisturbed by traffic. Cars have also been banned or reduced in other streets in the historical center. In the National Archaeological Museum, vast numbers of artifacts illustrate the many millennia of Greek civilization; smaller museums such as the Goulandris Museum of Cycladic Art Museum and the Byzantine and Christian Museum illuminate the history of particular regions or periods. Athens may seem like one huge city, but it is really a conglomeration of neighborhoods with distinctive characters. The Eastern influences that prevailed during the 400-year rule of the Ottoman Empire are still evident in Monastiraki, the bazaar area near the foot of the Acropolis. On the northern slope of the Acropolis, stroll through Plaka (if possible by moonlight), an area of tranquil streets lined with renovated mansions, to get the flavor of the 19th-century’s gracious lifestyle. The narrow lanes of Anafiotika, a section of Plaka, thread past tiny churches and small, color-washed houses with wooden upper stories, recalling a Cycladic island village. In this maze of winding streets, vestiges of the older city are everywhere: crumbling stairways lined with festive tavernas; dank cellars filled with wine vats; occasionally a court or diminutive garden, enclosed within high walls and filled with magnolia trees and the flaming trumpet-shaped flowers of hibiscus bushes. Formerly run-down old quarters, such as Thission, Gazi and Psirri, popular nightlife areas filled with bars and mezedopoleia (similar to tapas bars), are now in the process of gentrification, although they still retain much of their original charm, as does the colorful produce and meat market on Athinas. The area around Syntagma Square, the tourist hub, and Omonia Square, the commercial heart of the city about 1 km (½ mi) northwest, is distinctly European, having been designed by the court architects of King Otho, a Bavarian, in the 19th century. The chic shops and bistros of ritzy Kolonaki nestle at the foot of Mt. Lycabettus, Athens’s highest hill (909 feet). Each of Athens’s outlying suburbs has a distinctive character: in the north is wealthy, tree-lined Kifissia, once a summer resort for aristocratic Athenians, and in the south and southeast lie Glyfada, Voula, and Vouliagmeni, with their sandy beaches, seaside bars, and lively summer nightlife. Just beyond the city’s southern fringes is Piraeus, a bustling port city of waterside fish tavernas and Saronic Gulf views.
Undoubtedly the most extraordinary island in the Aegean, crescent-shape Santorini remains a mandatory stop on the Cycladic tourist route—even if it’s necessary to enjoy the sensational sunsets from Ia, the fascinating excavations, and the dazzling white towns with a million other travelers. Called Kállisti (the “Loveliest”) when first settled, the island has now reverted to its subsequent name of Thira, after the 9th-century-BC Dorian colonizer Thiras. The place is better known, however, these days as Santorini, a name derived from its patroness, St. Irene of Thessaloniki, the Byzantine empress who restored icons to Orthodoxy and died in 802. You can fly conveniently to Santorini, but to enjoy a true Santorini rite of passage, opt instead for the boat trip here, which provides a spectacular introduction. After the boat sails between Sikinos and Ios, your deck-side perch approaches two close islands with a passage between them. The bigger one on the left is Santorini, and the smaller on the right is Thirassia. Passing between them, you see the village of Ia adorning Santorini’s northernmost cliff like a white geometric beehive. You are in the caldera (volcanic crater), one of the world’s truly breathtaking sights: a demilune of cliffs rising 1,100 feet, with the white clusters of the towns of Fira and Ia perched along the top. The bay, once the high center of the island, is 1,300 feet in some places, so deep that when boats dock in Santorini’s shabby little port of Athinios, they do not drop anchor. The encircling cliffs are the ancient rim of a still-active volcano, and you are sailing east across its flooded caldera. On your right are the Burnt isles, the White isle, and other volcanic remnants, all lined up as if some outsize display in a geology museum. Hephaestus’s subterranean fires smolder still—the volcano erupted in 198 BC, about 735, and there was an earthquake in 1956. Indeed, Santorini and its four neighboring islets are the fragmentary remains of a larger landmass that exploded about 1600 BC: the volcano’s core blew sky high, and the sea rushed into the abyss to create the great bay, which measures 10 km by 7 km (6 mi by 4½ mi) and is 1,292 feet deep. The other pieces of the rim, which broke off in later eruptions, are Thirassia, where a few hundred people live, and deserted little Aspronissi (“White isle”). In the center of the bay, black and uninhabited, two cones, the Burnt Isles of Palea Kameni and Nea Kameni, appeared between 1573 and 1925. There has been too much speculation about the identification of Santorini with the mythical Atlantis, mentioned in Egyptian papyri and by Plato (who says it’s in the Atlantic), but myths are hard to pin down. This is not true of old arguments about whether tidal waves from Santorini’s cataclysmic explosion destroyed Minoan civilization on Crete, 113 km (70 mi) away. The latest carbon-dating evidence, which points to a few years before 1600 BC for the eruption, clearly indicates that the Minoans outlasted the eruption by a couple of hundred years, but most probably in a weakened state. In fact, the island still endures hardships: since antiquity, Santorini has depended on rain collected in cisterns for drinking and irrigating—the well water is often brackish—and the serious shortage is alleviated by the importation of water. However, the volcanic soil also yields riches: small, intense tomatoes with tough skins used for tomato paste (good restaurants here serve them); the famous Santorini fava beans, which have a light, fresh taste; barley; wheat; and white-skin eggplants.
Although the fishing boats still go out in good weather, Mykonos largely makes its living from tourism these days. The summer crowds have turned one of the poorest islands in Greece into one of the richest. Old Mykonians complain that their young, who have inherited stores where their grandfathers once sold eggs or wine, get so much rent that they have lost ambition, and in summer sit around pool bars at night with their friends, and hang out in Athens in winter when island life is less scintillating. Put firmly on the map by Jackie O in the 1960s, Mykonos town—called Hora by the locals—remains the Saint-Tropez of the Greek islands. The scenery is memorable, with its whitewashed streets, Little Venice, the Kato Myli ridge of windmills, and Kastro, the town’s medieval quarter. Its cubical two- or three-story houses and churches, with their red or blue doors and domes and wooden balconies, have been long celebrated as some of the best examples of classic Cycladic architecture. Luckily, the Greek Archaeological Service decided to preserve the town, even when the Mykonians would have preferred to rebuild, and so the Old Town has been impressively preserved. Pink oleander, scarlet hibiscus, and trailing green pepper trees form a contrast amid the dazzling whiteness, whose frequent renewal with whitewash is required by law. Any visitor who has the pleasure of getting lost in its narrow streets (made all the narrower by the many outdoor stone staircases, which maximize housing space in the crowded village) will appreciate how its confusing layout was designed to foil pirates—if it was designed at all. After Mykonos fell under Turkish rule in 1537, the Ottomans allowed the islanders to arm their vessels against pirates, which had a contradictory effect: many of them found that raiding other islands was more profitable than tilling arid land. At the height of Aegean piracy, Mykonos was the principal headquarters of the corsair fleets—the place where pirates met their fellows, found willing women, and filled out their crews. Eventually the illicit activity evolved into a legitimate and thriving trade network. Morning on Mykonos town’s main quay is busy with deliveries, visitors for the Delos boats, lazy breakfasters, and street cleaners dealing with the previous night’s mess. In late morning the cruise-boat people arrive, and the shops are all open. In early afternoon, shaded outdoor tavernas are full of diners eating salads (Mykonos’s produce is mostly imported); music is absent or kept low. In mid- and late afternoon, the town feels sleepy, since so many people are at the beach, on excursions, or sleeping in their air-conditioned rooms; even some tourist shops close for siesta. By sunset, people have come back from the beach, having taken their showers and rested. At night, the atmosphere in Mykonos ramps up. The cruise-boat people are mostly gone, coughing three-wheelers make no deliveries in the narrow streets, and everyone is dressed sexy for summer and starting to shimmy with the scene. Many shops stay open past midnight, the restaurants fill up, and the bars and discos make ice cubes as fast as they can. Ready to dive in? Italy’s vibrant capital lives in the present, but no other city on earth evokes its past so powerfully. For over 2,500 years, emperors, popes, artists, and common citizens have left their mark here. Archaeological remains from ancient Rome, art-stuffed churches, and the treasures of Vatican City vie for your attention, but Rome is also a wonderful place to practice the Italian-perfected il dolce far niente, the sweet art of idleness. Your most memorable experiences may include sitting at a caffè in the Campo de’ Fiori or strolling in a beguiling piazza.
La Spezia is sometimes thought of as nothing but a large, industrialized naval port en route to the Cinque Terre and Portovenere, but it does possess some charm, and it gives you a look at a less tourist-focused part of the Riviera. Its palm-lined promenade, fertile citrus parks, renovated Liberty-style palazzos, and colorful balcony-lined streets make parts of La Spezia surprisingly beautiful. Monday through Saturday mornings, you can stroll through the fresh fish, produce, and local-cheese stalls at the outdoor market on Piazza Cavour, and on Friday take part in the busy flea market on Via Garibaldi. There’s also Porto Mirabello, a newly built tourist port with a pool club, shops, and several restaurants that overlook the fleet of super-yachts.
Villefranche-Sur-Mer is located on the Côte d’Azur in Provence – known for its fields of lavender and warm weather – and is highly appreciated for its 14th Century architecture.
If you look north of the cathedral (La Seu, or the seat of the bishopric, to Mallorcans) on a map of the city of Palma, you can see around the Plaça Santa Eulàlia a jumble of tiny streets that made up the earliest settlement. Farther out, a ring of wide boulevards traces the fortifications built by the Moors to defend the larger city that emerged by the 12th century. The zigzags mark the bastions that jutted out at regular intervals. By the end of the 19th century, most of the walls had been demolished; the only place where you can still see the massive defenses is at Ses Voltes, along the seafront west of the cathedral.A torrent (streambed) used to run through the middle of the old city, dry for most of the year but often a raging flood in the rainy season. In the 17th century it was diverted to the east, along the moat that ran outside the city walls. Two of Palma’s main arteries, La Rambla and the Passeig d’es Born, now follow the stream’s natural course. The traditional evening paseo (promenade) takes place on the Born.If you come to Palma by car, park in the garage beneath the Parc de la Mar (the ramp is just off the highway from the airport, as you reach the cathedral) and stroll along the park. Beside it run the huge bastions guarding the Almudaina Palace; the cathedral, golden and massive, rises beyond. Where you exit the garage, there’s a ceramic mural by the late Catalan artist and Mallorca resident Joan Miró, facing the cathedral across the pool that runs the length of the park.If you begin early enough, a walk along the ramparts at Ses Voltes from the mirador beside the cathedral is spectacular. The first rays of the sun turn the upper pinnacles of La Seu bright gold and then begin to work their way down the sandstone walls. From the Parc de la Mar, follow Avinguda Antoni Maura past the steps to the palace. Just below the Plaça de la Reina, where the Passeig d’es Born begins, turn left on Carrer de la Boteria into the Plaça de la Llotja (if the Llotja itself is open, don’t miss a chance to visit—it’s the Mediterranean’s finest Gothic-style civic building). From there stroll through the Plaça Drassana to the Museu d’Es Baluard, at the end of Carrer Sant Pere. Retrace your steps to Avinguda Antoni Maura. Walk up the Passeig d’es Born to Plaça Joan Carles I, then right on Avenida de La Unió.

Shipmates
Young cruisers that are fully potty trained can enrol as Shipmates at our Camp at Sea program, where they’ll work on their art skills at the Creation Station, learn new camp songs, and interact with other kids under the supervision of our experienced youth staff.

Art
Budding artists will love the Creation Station, a program that uses materials and tools for junior cruisers to express themselves through painting, collaging, and more. Autism-Friendly Cruises
We offer a welcoming, autism-friendly environment on all of our cruise ships. Onboard, kids with special needs can enjoy sensory-friendly films, toys, and dietary menu options. Additionally, we offer a number of autism-friendly services including priority check-in and boarding.
Disabled Facilities
We do not require guests with disabilities to travel with another person as a condition for traveling on our ships. However, our personnel are not required to perform personal tasks (e.g. assisting with eating, dressing, toileting or lifting) ,guests requiring assistance with these functions should consider these needs when making a booking. If there is a question about the guest’s fitness to travel without personal assistance, this must be discussed with our Access Department.
Guests with disabilities are not required to travel with another person as a condition to traveling on our ships. However, all guests must consider that crew members are not required to assist guests with personal tasks or personal hygiene needs (e.g. assisting with eating, dressing, toileting). Therefore, guests requiring assistance with these functions should consider these needs when planning a cruise vacation. If there is a question as to a prospective guest’s ability to independently provide for their personal needs or hygiene without being a danger to themselves or others, and the guest plans to travel alone, this situation must be discussed with the company’s Access Department prior to booking a cruise vacation. This will allow an individualised assessment of the guest’s fitness to travel for the duration of the cruise without personal assistance. Guests attempting to board or found onboard without the ability to independently care for their personal needs will be evaluated to determine if they are fit to safely travel without assistance. Guests who are found unfit to travel may be denied boarding or removed from the ship at the next port of call, without entitlement to compensation or a refund.
We provide boarding and departure assistance with wheelchairs to guests with mobility disabilities. We also provide assistance to guests who are blind. Request assistance once you arrive at the pier or contact us prior to your cruise so we may prioritise your assistance. During peak times, there may be a wait for assistance. Our crew members are not permitted to lift our guests.
Guests with mobility disabilities are offered quicker processing at the pier. If boarding has not begun, we will offer priority boarding.
If requested in advance, we can arrange for accessible transportation to transfer guests between the airport and the pier. This service is offered at no extra charge to guests who have purchased transfers. Please note that accessible transportation may be limited or not available outside the United States.
We provide tactile interpreters on cruises to/from United States and Canada only, however support service provider (SSP) services are not provided. Please notify us at least 60 days prior to sailing. Do you provide CART? Yes, we provide real-time captioning (CART) services on cruises to/from the U.S. and Canada only. Please notify us at least 60 days prior to sailing.
We do not provide braille formatted material. However we provide qualified readers on board our ships for guests who are blind or have low vision.
Select crewmembers have been trained as qualified readers to read written material such as the daily Cruise Today and shore excursions information. Waiters will also read dining menus upon request. Please request a qualified reader at Guest Relations upon boarding.
Special Dietary Requirements
Most dietary requirements can be accommodated in our main dining room. If you have complex food allergies please contact our Access team at 1-866-7225.
We do offer pre-packaged frozen prepared Kosher meals. Make sure to request these meals 45 days prior to sailing if your ship is sailing out of the continental US, Puerto Rico, Alaska or Hawaii and 90 days prior to sailing if your ship is sailing out of South America, Europe, Australia or Asia.
Age Restrictions
Infants must be at least 6 months old as of the first day of the cruise/Cruisetour. On some cruises/Cruisetours, infants must be 12 months old.
Dress Code
Whatever the itinerary, destination, or occasion—when you pack, think casual chic.
DURING THE DAY
SHORESIDE – For warmer climates, pack swimsuits and cover-ups, walking shorts and shirts that protect from the sun, lightweight slacks, skirts or sundress, and a light sweater or jacket. Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are always encouraged.
For cooler climates, bring clothing with long sleeves, sweaters, and pants that can be layered. In areas prone to snow or rain, waterproof jackets, hats, gloves, and umbrellas are recommended.
Around the globe, consider appropriate shoes and gear for the excursions you have planned and the terrain you’ll encounter. For instance, you may pack water shoes if hiking a waterfall or a headscarf or conservative dress for visiting museums, mosques, temples, and churches.
SHIPBOARD – Throughout the ship, casual resort wear, sundresses, shorts, polos, or button-downs are appropriate, paired with sandals, low heels, and loafers. Make sure you bring active wear and sneakers if you plan to hit the gym!
Poolside, bathing suits with coverups, T-shirts, tanks, hats, and sunglasses are welcomed.
In main and specialty dining, we ask guests to refrain from wearing swimsuits, see-through coverups or robes, bare feet, tank tops, T-shirts, and baseball caps.
AT NIGHT
SMART CASUAL – Smart Casual attire is required for entry to main dining, specialty dining, and the Celebrity Theatre. Smart Casual means you look comfortable yet tasteful in a dress, skirt, long pants, or jean, and stylish top or button-down. Shorts and flip flops are not considered Smart Casual.
EVENING CHIC – Each itinerary features one to two “formal” nights we call Evening Chic. Evening Chic means you dress to impress, glamorous and sophisticated in your own way, with a cocktail dress, skirt, slacks, or designer jean, an elegant dress top or blazer—some guests even pack a tuxedo or gown for onboard photos. The Daily program, delivered to your stateroom and available at the Guest Relations Desk, will be your guide to the correct attire each evening. If you do not wish to participate in Evening Chic, Smart Casual attire is acceptable for dining and theatre.
CARRY-ON LUGGAGE
Keep anything you might need for boarding day handy or stash it in your carry-on. That includes travel documents, medications, toiletries, and maybe a swimsuit and change of clothes. Your checked baggage should be delivered to your stateroom within a few hours of setting sail if tagged properly.
What Not to Pack (Prohibited Items)
Weapons, illegal drugs & Substances (including marijuana, cannabis, extracts of THC and/or CBD), and other items that could interfere with the safe operation of the ship or the safe and secure environment of our guests and crew are prohibited. The United States Transportation Security Administration also recommends that you do not pack fragile or expensive items (such as jewellery) in checked luggage.
The following are examples of items that guests are not allowed to bring onboard. These and other similar items will be confiscated upon being found. Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, flammable liquids, explosives, and dangerous chemicals will not be returned.

NOTE:
*Personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed. Scissors with blade length less than 4 inches are allowed.
**Aerial Drones: guests are welcome to bring drones on their cruise for use on land only and outside of the port area. Drones are not to be operated onboard the ship at any time. Different countries may have different rules. Guests assume full responsibility for understanding all local authority rules related to drone usage and for obtaining ay required permissions for drone operations. Any liability, including environmental damage from drone usage is the guest’s responsibility. Celebrity Cruises® assumes no liability for guests drones that may be confiscated by local authorities for violating local laws or for any accident or injury resulting from a guest drone flight. While onboard, drones must be stored safely in the stateroom. Drones used on the ship will be confiscated till the end of the cruise. A Guest Conduct Policy warning will be issued and guests may be subject to disembarkation at their own expense for onboard drone usage.
***Items that generate heat or produce an open flame are strictly prohibited. This includes heating pads, clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense and any other item that may create a fire hazard. NOTE: The only exception to this policy are curling irons, hair straighteners and personal fans that are “”certified”” low wattage. Please note that our staterooms are equipped with dual voltage 110/220 AC outlets, and it’s essential to ensure that your personal appliances are compatible with these voltage ranges to avoid any damage or safety issues. Matches and normal lighteners are allowed onboard. However “”torch lighters”” and novelty lighters that look like guns are not allowed onboard. Torch lighters emit a powerful concentrated flame, and therefore are prohibited.
****Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports-of-call or from shops onboard will be stored by the ship and delivered to you on the last day of the sailing. Alcoholic beverages seized on embarkation day will not be returned.
WiFi Access
Basic Wi-Fi and Premium Wi-Fi services are available throughout the Celebrity Cruises® fleet.
Choose from Basic Wi-Fi or Premium Wi-Fi packages to suit your needs.
Basic Wi-Fi Package – With our Basic Wi-F you can browse the web, send emails, and text family and friends via select messaging apps. It’s a great value option for staying connected while you’re on vacation, but please note that features such as emailing large files, sharing photos or videos on social media, using streaming apps, or making video calls are only available with our Premium Wi-Fi. Basic Wi-Fi is only available for pre-cruise purchase or with All Included.
Premium Wi-Fi Package – Premium Wi-Fi puts internet streaming at your fingertips throughout your vacation. Message or video chat with your friends and family, browse the web, send emails even with larger files attached, and post on social media to your heart’s content. Plus, you can enjoy videos, movies, binge-worthy shows, and music on your favourite streaming apps. Plus, stream from your personal device to your in-stateroom TV*.
Cruise guests can use their cell phones to make and receive calls, send and receive text messages, access email and surf the web. We use Wireless Maritime Service to offer advanced roaming onboard all Celebrity Cruises ships. Roaming will begin once the ship is in international waters and guests will see “cellularatsea”, “NOR18” or “901-18” on their mobile display. Guests will be billed at rates similar to international roaming which will be billed to their monthly bill by thier home network.
Environment
Lighting
We’re replacing higher wattage halogen and incandescent light bulbs with longer lasting fluorescent and Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights throughout our fleet. Fluorescent and LED bulbs require 80% less energy, generate 50% less heat, reduce energy consumption, last much longer and contribute to more efficient air conditioning due to the cooler bulbs.
Propulsion and Hull Design
A new approach to hull design and propulsion systems, resulted in significant energy savings. Ships equiped with Common Rail Diesel Engines∘ reduce energy consumption and NOX emissions at all engine loads.
Heating, Ventilation, and AC
Our ships are equipped with the latest and most efficient air-conditioning equipment commercially available. Coupled with improvements in system design and automation.
Operation Conservation Measures
Our environmental policies guide both our shipboard and shoreside employees in beneficial environmental∘ practices. Our crewmembers are an integral part of our energy-conservation efforts. Staff and guests are advised to turn off lights, water and appliances when not needed, adjust temperature thermostats to comfortable levels when no one is present and using towels and bed linens more than once before laundering.
Fresh Water Consumption
We ask our crewmembers and guests to help us conserve water whenever possible. To help reduce the energy needed to produce fresh water, we have installed water-reduction technology and appliances throughout our fleet to reduce the use of water-producing equipment that consumes fuel or electricity. These features include sink aerators, showerheads, reduced-flow dishwashers and low-consumption laundry equipment.
Advanced Wastewater Purification
We Installed Advanced Wastewater Purification (AWP) systems throughout the fleet. These technologically advanced systems clean the wastewater generated onboard our ships to create clean water that exceeds ship wastewater discharge standards throughout the world.
Renewable Energy Sources
Our ships are equipped with solar power technology. The panels and the clean power they produce can help reduce the consumption of energy derived from fossil fuels. 500m2 of solar panels produce enough electricity to power a ship’s guest elevators or approximately 7,000 LED lights.
High-Efficiency Appliances
We have installed high-efficiency appliances throughout the ship in order to minimize their impact on climate change and reduce our energy load. Every type of appliance onboard our ships is being evaluated for efficiency, including TV’s, coffeemakers, ice makers, ovens and dishwashers.
Energy-Efficient Windows
Across the fleet we have applied window films∘ that are specially glazed to prevent solar heat from penetrating, thereby reducing the amount of air conditioning needed to cool the ship, thereby saving energy.
Hull Coatings
We apply new silicone paints on the hull, which are innovative and environmentally safe coatings that increase the smoothness of our ships’ hull. By creating a smoother hull, we can reduce the amount of energy needed∘ to travel through water.
Smoking Policy
Smoking and Restrictions on Purchase of Tobacco Products Onboard
For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, our ships are designated as non-smoking. This includes a prohibition on the use of a hookah or other types of water pies.
Smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom or on any stateroom balcony. This applies to all stateroom categories onboard. If a guest is in violation of this “No Smoking” policy, a cleaning fee will be applied to their onboard account. Smoking is also not permitted in any dining venue, theater, bar, lounge, hallway, elevator or jogging track, or most indoor areas. Further, smoking is not allowed in certain outdoor areas, including restricted areas, food venues, and kids play areas and pools.
However, we recognize that some of our guests do smoke. Therefore, to provide an onboard environment that also satisfies smokers, we have designated certain areas of the ship as smoking areas. To assist smoking guests to locate areas where smoking is permitted, we have posted signage onboard clearly identifying all smoking areas and ashtrays provided for smoking use. Guest may also inquire at Guest Services regarding the location of the designated smoking areas onboard.
In casinos on itineraries where smoking is allowed, there will be visible signage designating the area for both smoking and non-smoking guests.
Cigar and pipe tobacco is limited to designated outdoor areas and cigar bars (if the ship has one). Electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes are only permitted within the designated smoking areas.
Cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard.
Guests must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco onboard.
Alcohol Policy
Consuming alcohol to excess impairs one’s judgment and reduces one’s ability to recognize and avoid potentially dangerous situations. Guests who choose to consume alcohol must do so responsibly. The ship’s staff may refuse to serve alcoholic beverages in their sole discretion to any guest who does not consume alcohol responsibly. Ship’s personnel may request verification of a guest’s age to verify they are of age to consume alcohol pursuant to this Policy. Adult guests are prohibited from providing alcohol to minors or young adults. All drinking games are strictly prohibited.
The minimum age for a guest to drink or possess alcoholic beverages on ships sailing from Asia, North America, the United Arab Emirates, or at any of our private destinations, is 21. The minimum age for a guest to drink or possess alcoholic beverages on ships sailing from South America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand is 18. In all other cases, the drinking age of the home port shall control our determination of a legal drinking age.
In certain circumstances where local laws permit or require it, Royal Caribbean Group may modify this policy which may also require a parent or guardian’s request or authorization. Guests may contact Guest Services or refer to the cruise information in their stateroom for minimum drinking age information specific to their cruise vacation. For purposes of complying with the minimum age to drink or possess alcoholic beverages, a guest’s age is established at the beginning of the cruise vacation. If a guest celebrates his or her birthday during the cruise vacation, and thereby becomes of age to consume alcohol, the guest may thereafter ask the Guest Services Manager to modify the ship’s records to permit their consumption of alcohol during the remainder of the vacation. The guest will be required to appear at Guest Services to present a valid government-issued form of identification to permit verification of their age.
Unless otherwise permitted by our security personnel or crew, guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages onboard; with the exception of embarkation day when each guest who is of drinking age will be permitted to bring onboard with them one (1) sealed 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne. Boxed wine and other containers are prohibited. Security personnel may inspect containers (including water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, canteens, etc.) at any time and will dispose of alcohol concealed in such containers. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased from onboard shops or in ports of call must be presented to security upon re-boarding and will be secured by ship’s personnel. Alcohol secured by ship’s personnel will be returned to guests just prior to the conclusion of their cruise vacation. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them.
Any guest who goes ashore and consumes alcohol (whether under the supervision of a parent/guardian or not) is responsible for ensuring they consume responsibly and retain the ability to recognise and avoid potentially dangerous situations when they return to the ship. Parents/guardians are reminded they are responsible for the actions of their minor and young adult children at all times while on a Royal Caribbean Group cruise vacation.
